Deskrune Press · Issue 01

One page. Everything a piece needs.

Deskrune is an ADHD-led tools brand, faceless by design. The catalog is sorted by failure mode — re-entry, hyperfocus crash, RSD — not by ADHD subtype, which is a small editorial choice with a large practical consequence. Kits are AI-assisted with full disclosure, edited by an ADHD adult, and on a free free with optional tips launch through 31 May 2026. Below: boilerplate, citation-ready facts, brand assets, and a real inbox a human reads.

01/ 06What Deskrune is

The elevator pitch.

Deskrune publishes diagnostic ADHD kits and free instruments for adults navigating executive-function failure modes — the moments when re-entry, hyperfocus crashes, RSD, decision fatigue, and time blindness keep producing the same losses. The catalog is sorted by failure mode rather than ADHD subtype, every kit ships AI-assisted and human-edited with a written disclosure on its last page, and the free with optional tips launch runs at free per kit through 31 May 2026.

Faceless by design. Identity-first by voice. The work stands on the citations and the tip support, not on a face.

02/ 06Why it exists

The gap in the ADHD-tools market.

The default product across the ADHD-tools market is the daily planner, the habit tracker, the streak app. Each of these assumes a user who can already start. The version of an ADHD adult who needs the most help is the one who can't, and that version has been quietly priced out of the category by products that punish them for being who they are.

Deskrune's catalog is built around the moment after the gap — re-entry after nine days offline, the morning after a hyperfocus crash, the Monday after a Friday spiral. Every kit assumes the reader will miss days, and treats the climb back as the work, not the failure. The four-line Re-Entry Card at the end of every chapter is the smallest expression of that design choice.

The other reason it exists is straightforward: the catalog is built by an ADHD adult, and the kits are the protocols that adult was looking for when nothing on the shelf fit. Faceless brand, identity-first voice. The work is the story.

03/ 06The methodology

Sorted by failure mode, not subtype.

Most ADHD products start from a subtype label — inattentive, hyperactive, combined — and try to wrap a system around the label. The Deskrune catalog starts from the failure mode: the named moment that keeps coming back. Hyperfocus Tunnel. Re-Entry Collapse. RSD Feedback Loop. The full taxonomy is the ten AFMs (AI Failure Modes) and is documented at /methodology/.

Sorting by failure mode does two useful things for press coverage. It tells a reader in one sentence whether a kit is for them — "the kit for the morning you opened a project and recognized nothing" reads differently than "the inattentive-type planner." And it forces every section of every kit to defend its place against the named moment. The methodology page documents the diagnostic flow, the citation rules, and the disclosure protocol. It is the page to link to when a piece needs the depth.

The full citation block, organized by AFM, with PubMed IDs and tier labels, is at /research/.

04/ 06What's true vs what's not

Save the fact-check time.

If you've covered ADHD products before, you know the genre's stock claims — the "change your life" copy, the "10x productivity" infographic, the founder superpower narrative. None of that lands here. Below: the things you can quote without checking back, and the things we don't say so you don't have to.

  • +

True: Tip optional, no account, no form.

A reader emails [email protected] within fourteen days. Money goes back. There's no exit-interview survey. The price doesn't make a defensive policy worth the friction.

  • +

True: AI-assisted, human-edited, disclosed on every kit.

AI handles aggregation, formatting, and first drafts. An ADHD adult edits every page. The disclosure sits on the last page of every kit; it isn't a footnote, and it isn't hidden in a help article.

  • +

    True: faceless brand, single operator.

The brand stands on the work, not on a founder's face. There is one operator; there is no team of forty-seven; press Q&As happen in writing under the brand name. KDP titles publish under the pen name A.J. Porter.

  • +

True: free launch price ends 31 May 2026.

On 1 June the price moves to free. The end date is on the buy page because the end date is real. There are no discount codes, no "limited tier of 100," no exit-intent overlays.

  • Not true: Deskrune "cures" or "fixes" ADHD.

Kits handle specific failure modes. They aren't treatment, they aren't a substitute for a clinician, and they don't claim to be. Please don't write that they are.

  • Not true: a charismatic founder is available for an interview.

Faceless is the design, not the deflection. Q&As happen in writing under the brand name. If a piece needs a quote, [email protected] sends three options.

  • Not true: the copy uses words like "different," "elevate," or "open up."

Those words are on the banned list. If a press release lands in your inbox with the typical SaaS-marketing vocabulary attached to Deskrune, it didn’t come from this brand.

05/ 06Contacts and assets

One inbox. Real assets.

Press contact: [email protected]. Reply window under 48 hours, usually same-day for press. Put "DEADLINE [date]" in the subject if you're on a tight timeline and it gets pulled to the top of the inbox.

The reply you get is from the person who built the thing. There is no media-relations team to route through.

The brand glyph.

  • The mark: a square with a diagonal X. The square is the desk. The X is the rune — what was already there, readable once you know the code.
  • SVG, inline: the SVG to the left is canonical. Copy from page source if you need it for layout.
  • PNG (512×512): /assets/favicon.png.
  • OG image (1200×630): /assets/og-default.png.
  • Wordmark: "DESKRUNE" set in Inter Black, all caps, lightly tracked. Sample on the homepage hero.
